Dr. Eduardo Paz-Rodriguez, M.D.
Dr. Eduardo Paz-Rodriguez earned his medical degree from Universidad Latina de Panamá in 2022. He completed his clinical internship at both Complejo Hospitalario Metropolitano Dr. Arnulfo Arias Madrid in Panama City and Complejo Hospitalario Dr. Manuel Amador Guerrero in Colón, where he gained broad experience in patient care across diverse medical settings. Dr. Paz-Rodriguez has spent the past four years actively involved with The Stem Cell Institute in Panama. During this time, he has played a key role in guiding patients through one of the most important decisions in their healthcare journey—understanding stem cell therapy—by prioritizing clear, compassionate, and informative patient-physician communication. In addition, he currently serves as a treating physician at Wellmed Clinic in Panama, with a strong commitment to advancing preventive, regenerative, and anti-aging medicine.
Julio Sierra, M.D.
Dr. Sierra is a graduate of Florida International University in Chemistry, Anthropology/Sociology. He received his medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Centroamérica in Costa Rica in 1998. He then returned to South Florida and devoted the next 15 years to medical research in HIV, endocrine, and stem cell studies. Dr. Sierra joined our lab in Panama in 2014 and became the Stem Cell Institute Clinical Director in 2016.
Carolyn De La Guardia, M.D.
Dr. De La Guardia is an efficiency-driven physician who is passionate about overall human health, fitness and nutrition. She believes that all people should have healthy bodies, be able to live their lives to their fullest, and that stem cell therapy is the future of medicine. Dr. De La Guardia received her medical degree from Universidad Latina de Panamá. She also received specialization in clinical medicine from Universidad Nacional de Panamá. She completed an observership at UT Health – Memorial Hermann in Houston, TX, as well as at Universidad de Navarra – La Clínica Universidad de Navarra in Pamplona, Spain. Prior to joining the team at Stem Cell Institute, Dr. De La Guardia performed at a medical practice in the public health system in Panama.
Verónica Gaez, M.D.
Dr. Gaez’s primary interests are anti-aging and orthomolecular medicine as well as hospital management. She studied medicine in order to help people via regenerative medicine, which piqued her interest in stem cell therapy. Dr. Gaez completed her medical degree at Universidad Latina de Panamá in 2015. She later completed her medical internship in 2018 at Manuel A. Nieto Hospital. Dr. Gaez also holds a certification in scientific research from the Hospital del Niño de Panamá.
Hernan H. Hernandez, M.D.
Dr. Hernandez received his medical degree from Latina University in the Republic of Panama in 2002 where he specialized in health services management. He also worked as the general director for health care at La Joya Center. He has been involved with direction for community programs involving patients with tuberculosis, HIV and other chronic infectious diseases in Panama´s Eastern region. Dr. Hernandez was the medical liaison between Panama’s Ministry of Health and the European committee for the patients at La Joya Center.
Cindy Leu, M.D.
Dr. Leu’s driving purpose in life is to promote wellbeing through holistic therapies to help people achieve their best possible inner and outer beauty. Dr. Leu received her medical degree from Universidad Latina de Panama in 2005. She completed her internship at the Complejo Hospitalario Metropolitano Dr Arnulfo A. Madrid and at the Hospital Regional Nicholás A. Solano in Chorrera. She has received multiple certifications and completed postgraduate courses in aesthetic and anti-aging medicine. She has participated in the development and execution of several clinical studies in Panama. Prior to joining the Stem Cell Institute team, Dr. Leu worked as a general physician with a focus on aesthetic medicine including alternative therapies.
Diana Gonzalez, M.D.
Driven by a deep desire to help others and enhance their quality of life through medical science, Dr. Gonzalez pursued a medical degree at Universidad Latina de Panamá. She developed an interest in regenerative medicine, fascinated by its potential to repair damaged tissues and organs using stem cells and other innovative approaches. In addition to her medical degree, Dr. Gonzalez holds certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Advanced Pediatric Life Support. She has gained significant practical experience, including a rotation at Katholisches Klinikum Mainz in Germany focused on peripheral vascular surgery. Her professional experience includes roles at Hospital Santo Tomás, Hospital Nicolás Solano, and Clínica Hospital San Fernando, where she has worked in emergency care and primary health care.
Querube Quirós, M.D.
Dr. Quiróz decided to study medicine because she was amazed by the precision of the human body’s mechanisms and was inspired by the potential to improve people’s quality of life. After graduating from Universidad Latina de Panamá, she served as the Clinical Manager and Coordinator for the antiretroviral therapy clinic at Complejo Hospitalario Arnulfo Arias Madrid and at La Ciudad de La Salud in Panama. She has also worked in the private sector performing hair implant procedures. She has gained great practical experience from her internships for internal medicine at Hospital Santa Fé de Bogotá in Bogotá, Colombia, as well as in cardiothoracic surgery at Chirurgisches Klinikum München Süd in Munich, Germany. Before joining the Stem Cell Institute team, Dr. Quirós presented a procedure case on an awake craniotomy at the 30th International Neurosurgery Congress in Cartagena, Colombia. She is looking forward to continuing her education in regenerative medicine and exploring its applications in various medical fields, including recovery after surgical procedures and treatment of urologic conditions.
Jailene Alba, M.D.
Dr. Jailene Alba is a medical doctor graduated from Universidad Latina de Panamá, driven by a deep passion for understanding the human body’s mechanisms and its adaptation to different environments. Her academic training and clinical experience have led her to have a strong focus on innovation and regenerative medicine. During her internship at Hospital Santo Tomás in Panama and the Dr. Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital Complex in Colón, she gained extensive experience in primary care and emergency medicine. Her ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure situations and her comprehensive approach to patient care have been fundamental to her professional success. Beyond her dedication to medicine, Dr. Alba is passionate about fitness and sports, which aligns with her interest in regenerative medicine as a tool to enhance overall health and physical performance. Her professional vision is centered on applying cutting-edge treatments to improve patients’ quality of life and optimize their well-being.
Dr. Eybard Sánchez
Dr. Eybard Sánchez is passionate about preventive medicine, patient-centered care, and long-term health optimization. He believes in promoting sustainable lifestyle changes to improve overall well-being and reduce the risk of developing common chronic diseases, empowering patients to achieve a better quality of life over time. He earned his medical degree from the Universidad Nacional de Panamá, where he built a solid foundation in clinical medicine. He completed his medical internship in the Republic of Panama, further strengthening his clinical skills and commitment to patient care. Following his internship, Dr. Sánchez developed a strong interest in medical research and began working on multiple clinical studies in Panama focused on preventive medicine.
Dr. Vladimir Broce
Dr. Broce earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at Universidad Latina de Panamá. His experience combines hospital clinical practice with scientific research. His public sector experience includes service at Hospital Santo Tomás and the Regional Hospital of Veraguas in Panama. These roles allowed him to develop a solid foundation in managing high-complexity cases and a profound commitment to serving the Panamanian community. Dr. Broce has dedicated a fundamental part of his career to clinical research and seeking innovative therapeutic alternatives that make a tangible difference in patient recovery. He is constantly finding new ways to help those in need and transforming his patients' quality of life.
Dr. Anaís Chacín Boyd
Dr. Boyd is passionate about helping patients achieve a better quality of life through a holistic approach that combines clinical expertise with lifestyle strategies for long-term health. She earned her medical degree from Universidad Latina de Panamá and completed her internship at Hospital Santo Tomás and Hospital Materno Infantil José Domingo De Obaldía, gaining experience with both adult and pediatric patients. In 2020, she completed an international internship in plastic surgery at Osaka City University in Japan. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Emergency Care in Primary Attention from TECH Universidad Tecnológica. Before joining the Stem Cell Institute, she worked as a general physician in both corporate and community settings, focusing on preventive care and patient education. She continues to expand her expertise in regenerative medicine, with a special interest in long-term recovery and quality of life.
Dr. Denisse Morgan
Dr. Denisse Morgan is a physician with a strong focus on regenerative and evidence-based medicine, graduating with honors and first in her class from the Universidad Nacional de Panamá. She has a solid foundation in clinical care and scientific rigor, complemented by experience in research appraisal and medical editing. Her training includes experience in anesthesiology and intensive care at Klinikum Landkreis Erding in Germany and research at the Gorgas Memorial Institute for Health Studies, where she worked in virology, molecular biology, and infectious disease surveillance. She has extensive clinical experience in private healthcare settings in Panama, including roles as a hospitalist and emergency physician at Hospital Nacional and Clínica Hospital San Fernando.
